Inclusion body myositis

Establishing the clinical validity of using wearable sensors to measure and track lower and upper limb dysfunction in inclusion body myositis.

Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) is a rare inflammatory muscle disease that leads to progressive muscle weakness and wasting. Symptoms include muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing (dysphagia), and issues with walking and gripping objects. The cause of IBM is not fully understood, and there is currently no cure for it.

Our research in IBM is focused on establishing the clinical validity of using wearable sensors for monitoring lower and upper limb dysfunction over time in IBM.
